These are the weight classes for the upcoming Triple Crown Tournaments to be held on in 2009. Each competitor must not exceed the maximum weight limit for each class. "When registering, check the appropriate weight class.. If a competitor does not
"make weight, he/she will be charged $20 to be added to the appropriate weight class." Weigh-ins will be as followed. Kids 8-9:30 am. Adults 9:30-11:30 am. All competitors must be pre-registered for the event. No one will be allowed to enter on the day of the tournament.
Each competitor must weigh-in to be able to compete. Competitors will only be allowed to weigh-in during their designated time (i.e. Adults will not be allowed to weigh in during the Kids "designated weigh-in time). Competitors will be weighed in without their gi, regardless if the " competitor is competing in a gi or no-gi division.
What are the weight divisions for the kids?
We will not know what the weight divisions will be until ALL the kids have registered. Experience, Age, and Weight all play a factor in order to maintain fairness and safety for all.
This is our standard solution for future tournaments
1) Deadline(s) in place - this will give our Bracket builder more than enough time to carefully process and build each bracket.
2) Staff will sort out by belt, age, and weight.
3) If we find a weight of, for instance, 50lbs. Difference for the white belt age 11-12, then we will bracket with lightweight, middleweight and Heavyweight division for that particular bracket. If there is only a 15-20lbs. Weight difference - we will not have a heavy, middle, or light - just one to cover the group.
4) Competitors (parents/guardians) can check online at and review the brackets 3 days before the event. If parents/guardians review the brackets, and still aren't satisfied - they can pull their children out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On that same note, we will not feed competitors, which means that we will not intentionally bracket individuals based on seeds or; Brackets will be done at random (blind draw in effect) - We try to put competitors from the same school on opposite sides of the bracket. Please do not contact us to alter brackets for reasons other than mistakes.

Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight without GI. There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be charged $20 to be added to the appropriate weight class. You can not change divisions, if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted on tournament day and no refund will be given.
Weigh-in will be held in the following manner:
Division called up to the announcement table (i.e. White belt 168-181);
Your name will be called to ensure you are present;

2) N o refund will be given
Once name is called, you will be required to step on the scale to weigh-in.
a) If you make weight, prepare for your first match.

**Weight limits are without Gi on.
*Competitors competing in both Gi and No-gi = one time weigh-in (if weight is successfully met during Gi, then no weigh-in will be required for no-gi competition)

Gi & No-Gi weigh-ins
GI weigh-ins:
One-time weigh-in IF competitors successfully weigh-in at their intended weight, and are competing in both GI and NO-GI. If you fail to make weight for GI, you will have to weigh-in again during NO-GI division call-ups.
NO-GI weigh-ins: same as GI format, but without GI on.
